Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Street Team?

We spread the word and awareness for the band that we love.

How do we accomplish this?

A. Contacting Radio Stations to play the single and/or the cd once it is released. BE POLITE. Get to the programming manager, not the DJ. DJ's do not control what is played. Do not call from the street team, just say you are a fan and want to hear the song. Guidelines will be published here of what to do and what not to do when calling a radio station shortly. WE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THE SINGLE OR EP AT THIS TIME.

B. Printing flyers and distributing them at appropriate venues. Music festivals, concerts, fairs, and bars are just some of the places to distribute flyers. Place flyers on cars in the parking lots at local shows, target rock audiences and people 14-40. Put flyers in bathrooms at bars. Post them on billboards. Place flyers throughout town but check to make sure you are not violating any ordinances. Go to record stores. Ask if you can leave flyers. Talk to people in record stores.

C. Go to rock concerts and to hear live bands play. Talk up JK. Carry merchandise such as matchbooks, stickers and tattoo's. Carry flyers in your cars. Tell anyone and everyone who will listen about JK.

D. Use the INTERNET. Use myspace, facebook, or any other INTERNET gathering place to place banners. Visit music chat rooms. Write reviews at Itunes and other music sites. Visit other popular sites and talk JK in their off topic sections.

E. At JK shows - arrive early and leave late. Wear sensible shoes (did I just say that?). TRUST ME. Arrive at the venue early. Bring your merchandise to give out. The merchandiise that has worked best in the past is the glow bracelets and color postcards. Only officially authorized street team merchandise may be handed out at shows. Pass out postcards. Tell people to buy merchandise like shirts, cd's, etc. Hand out the glow bracelets or other merchandise. Every team has a team leader who will contact the venue on behalf of the street team to make the appropriate arrangements.

F. Speak to your contacts. Do you know people in TV or radio, newspapers or magazines? Will they do an article on Juke Kartel? Don't be afraid to ask! Toby has a lot of fans out there from Rockstar. He's a celebrity. He did this to help his band succeed. Use his name. It's OK to say Juke Kartel featuring Toby Rand right now...we all understand the business. However, we are moving away from that and focusing on the band as a whole with a separate identity.

J. Have fun. You're going to make a lot of new friends and have some great adventures. You're going to get emotionally involved.

K. Don't have misconceptions about Street Teaming. Street teams pay for their own merchandise until there is enough money for it to be supplied. They don't get free tickets and they don't get backstage with the band. Your hard work will pay off when Juke Kartel makes it big. They will not forget our help. If you ask any street teamer around, you will find out just how much this band gives back to the Street Team.

WE ARE THE ONLY OFFICIAL WAY TO PROMOTE JUKE KARTEL. THE BAND HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT IF YOU WANT TO PROMOTE JUKE KARTEL AT THEIR SHOWS, JOIN THIS STREET TEAM!!!!
